Basically, it's just the same old Tutorial announcement forum, but now anyone can post anything they want in it, as discussed in an earlier topic. The forum is completely moderated by the staff, so keep in mind that your posts will usually be "tidied up" to present to the general public when it's ready. That said, feel free to post anything at all that you think the public is interested in. I was just thinking, really. We have two forum announcements right now. It's not much. So what I was thinking of doing, is opening up the entire announcements forum to its members to announce pretty much whatever they'd like. Think of it like PureZC's main page announcements, only anyone can announce whatever they'd like on the main page, so long as it relates to ZC or your tutorials, or the tutorials of others. In theory, it could be ANYTHING related to Zelda Classic. (Though not your quests.) For example: - A link to a great resource site you just found.
- A tutorial you're planning on making, but want member guidance first.
- Feedback on a tutorial you made. It could be like Craig's list, for feedback!
- A brief reminder to those new to ZC that <tutorial> would be a great thing to check, and why.
- Announcing a new version of ZC.
- Reminding people of something in ZC. (A quick tip, for example.)
- Revealing a little tip you just discovered in ZQuest, say, for organizing combos.
Of course, there are things it shouldn't be used for. For example: - Announcing the same thing twice.
- Announcing something similar to something already said.
- Announcing a new quest of yours. However, If it's a quest related to ZC as a whole, for example, _L_'s works here and here and here, that's okay. Do announce that if you wish.
- Testing topics, or saying something just to be shown on the main page.
- Birthdays.
- Leavings and arrivals.
- Suggestions.
- Anything related to you.
- Anything not related to Zelda Classic in any way whatsoever.
- Spam. ... Obviously. (I'm sure I'll come up with some sort of fancy permissions mask limiting users from this forum, among other things, if people spam it up.)
Now, on a note quite related to most of the "Good" examples, the main page is for announcing content on the forums, not for just discussing it. So if you make an announcement on the main page, do try to link it back to a thread you're making on the forums.
